It is economical in the long run to buy this battery to replace a lead/acid battery. The benefits of LiFePO4 batteries over most other types are that they offer about 4-6 times the service life. That, in combination with the greater safely usable capacity of about 80% (as opposed to about 50% for lead/acid), makes them a more economical choice in the long run.
Compared to lithium-ion, LiFePO4 batteries are much safer. They don't have the risk of thermal runaway and extremely hot fire upon impact that standard Li-ion batteries carry. Another big advantage of LiFePO4 over lead/acid is the much more consistent power output they offer over the full range of their usable capacity. Lead/acid is drawn down to a barely usable voltage fairly quickly when under load. LiFePO4 is drawn down, but the voltage remains quite close to 12V, resulting in fewer low voltage alerts in use.
Real-World Test: Take 100Ah for example - Tested a 100Ah battery with a 1000W electric tea kettle, a 700W microwave (on high for 10 minutes), and a 1500W induction cooker. All three worked perfectly. The microwave and the induction cooker both cause low voltage alarms when powered with a 310Ah AGM (lead/acid) battery bank.
