Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) features structural chemical stability due to its strong covalent iron-phosphorus-oxygen bonds. Unlike nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) batteries, which can undergo thermal runaway at lower threshold temperatures, LiFePO4 will not release oxygen or catch fire under direct physical penetration.
