How to Choose a Solar Battery
Choosing the right solar battery is essential to meet your performance expectations. What needs to be considered is your budget, where you live, and what type of solar panels you have. The other most important questions you'll need to answer are how much electricity your solar system produces and how much power you consume. Example: If you have a 5kW solar system, you will most likely need a battery with a capacity of at least 10kWh, and even up to 13kWh. It is always better to size up than to be limited in battery capacity. To break it down, a 5kW solar power system usually produces around 17–21 kWh. Most residential solar owners feed around two-thirds of the produced energy back to the utility grid, which is around 13 kWh a day. This 13kWh could instead go to your solar battery storage for later use. However, if you consume at least half of the energy your system produces, then a 10kWh battery would also be enough.
